Country:
|
The hunt country lies in South Durham and North Yorkshire between
Darlington in the north and Thirsk to the south. It borders the
Zetland,
Cleveland, South Durham, Bedale and Bilsdale hunts.A well foxed
country with hedges, hunt jumps and a few walls, but plenty of wire.
Some grass in the saturday country, much plough and winter cereals, some
forestry in the tuesday country. |
|
History:
|
The Hurworth Hunt dates from around 1775, but the first
official records are
from 1803. |
